The RAHIMY FAMILY, originally from Kabul / Afghanistan, has been running its renowned KABULSHOP, which is popular with connoisseurs and collectors, for over 30 years now.It is thanks to Haji Omer RAHIMY, born in 1958, the doyen of the family clan who came to Austria in 1978, that today KABULSHOP is not only one of Europe's most authentic shops for oriental art and crafts at Herrengasse 6 in Vienna but also the most extensive collection of Oriental art in Europe.With wise foresight, Omer RAHIMY, who was only twenty years old at the time and came from a wealthy dynasty of bazaar traders in Kabul, managed to save the oriental treasures his family had accumulated over generations in their bazaar shops and private residences from the destruction of the decades-long Afghan civil war.
